Opening days

Saturday 27th May
Sunday 28th May
Monday 29th May
There is a preview evening on Friday 26th May

5" painted canvasses, glass panels, small glass and silver jewellery, they all have a common theme – texture

Janice works from her home studio in Derbyshire.  She began to paint in 2006 initially for relaxation and hasn’t looked back since.  Her work over the years has evolved as she is always looking for new challenges and enjoys learning new processes that are used to create different finished pieces.  Her latest addition to her toolset includes a lathe and milling machine.

Working in sterling silver and mixed metal jewellery is her current passion.  She incorporates texture into her work using traditional forging methods and her rolling mill to create a mark in the metal.  Each piece is hand forged making the item unique.

Janice will have all forms of her work on display over the bank holiday weekend but her emphasis is on the launch of her new jewellery collections which are hand made and designed to be practical.  They are simple elegant pieces that are wearable in an everyday setting, but are special enough to enhance any outfit on an evening out.

Space will be limited to display her pictures so if you would like to view a specific painting or print she will take it along to the event all you need to do is ask by contacting Janice via the contact form on her website at www.janiceallen.co.uk or via a message through Facebook by searching for janiceallenjag
