Opening days

The entanglement of human emotion and nature; inspired by internal and external observation, the written word and imagination. Etching, lithography and paint are my choice of media. I live and work in Sheffield and have been a practicing artist for ten years. I am presently immersed in a year long woodland project where ancient woodland in Sheffield informs my present practice. Along side this I am working on a painting called ‘Eve’ which will be in a group touring exhibition in 2017 titled ‘Adam and Eve’. Please see my website for updates on this. Recent successes are: 2017 Painting Selected by National Open Art to be exhibited at ArtRooms London. 2016 Poetry into Art Millstone Grit Awarded third prize http://antiphon.org.uk/wordpress/?cat=21 Selected for “Small Print International'. Touring Exhibition. http://www.leicesterprintworkshop.com/smallprint 2015 Winner of The Harley Foundation Prize The Harley Gallery Welbeck www.harleygallery.co.uk Exhibited at the The National Open Exhibition Royal College of Art Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize London (highly acclaimed award) www.artprize.co.uk 2014 Selected to exhibit at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Awarded ‘The Trustees Prize’ for the best in the show at Great Northern Art Show 2014 held at Ripon Cathedral. The judges comments were: “A deeply felt and meditative painting in a tradition that goes back through Cecil Collins and Craigie Atchison. All essential detail stripped away letting the sombre colour and apparently simple form carry the force of the image”. http://greatnorthartshow.co.uk/prize-2014
