Open 10am - 2pm Saturday 3rd June
Working with Chesterfield College's Creative Studies Students, West Studios are exhibiting a collection of work from various contemporary practices and mediums including photography, installation, surface patterning, fine art 2D/3D and metal working. This first collective exhibition, under " The Young Contemporary", has been planned and curated by the students themselves, offering practical work experience in creative exhibitions and personal promotion.
Studio space is also used by up and coming ex-students as tenants providing a gateway to becoming practicing artists.
West Studios is an ERDF initiative by Chesterfield College to offer Chesterfield's creative community a space to meet and develop.
Originally set up in Summer 2014 the centre has provided studio space to over 30 art, creative and community based small businesses and start ups within Chesterfield old boys Grammar School on the college campus. Now an established art gallery and shop of locally produced gifts and cards, West Studios runs regular events and workshops open to the public.
